Casandra “Cassie” Ventura and Sean “Diddy” Combs’ relationship was the topic of conversation when his former assistant met with his attorneys to discuss working for him again.

In April 2024, after federal agents had raided Combs’ homes in Miami and Los Angeles, Capricorn Clark and her lawyer met with his attorneys to discuss coming back to work for him as his chief of staff, she testified on Tuesday, May 27, at the rap mogul’s federal s.є.x trafficking and racketeering trial.

During cross-examination, Combs’ attorney Marc Agnifilo asked Clark about part of the discussion they had during that meeting, when Clark said she told Ventura that she should leave Combs and date other people, given their tumultuous relationship.

Ventura replied that “Jay-Z was taken” and asked her “who would she date?” Clark testified, confirming to Agnifilo that she had told him about that alleged exchange.

She didn’t say when this conversation between her and Ventura took place.

Earlier in the day, Clark testified about how Combs allegedly came to her house with a gun one morning in December 2011 and wanted her to go with him to kill Kid Cudi, whose real name is Scott Mescudi.

Combs was allegedly livid because Mescudi had briefly dated Ventura while he and Ventura were on a break during their 11-year relationship.

The third week of Combs’ trial began on Tuesday, with Clark testifying that the music mogul often threatened and once kidnapped her in a jealous rage related to his ex-girlfriend Ventura.

Clark is the highest-profile employee so far to testify in the trial against her former boss.

The prosecution witness was cross-examined by Combs’ attorney, Marc Agnifilo, in the high-profile criminal proceedings in Manhattan.

Combs has pleaded not guilty to charges of s.є.x trafficking, racketeering conspiracy and transportation to engage in prostitution.

His ex-staffer Clark recalled a conversation she allegedly had about encouraging Ventura to date someone else.

This came after Clark described witnessing her then boss beat and kick Ventura amid the love triangle with Kid Cudi – whose real name is Scott Mescudi.

She revealed their discussion during Agnifilo’s final question to her in court.

He asked about a claim she had made during a meeting last year with Combs’ lawyers, reported The Washington Post.

Clark had allegedly told Ventura years ago that she should break up with Combs.

Ventura, lawyers said, responded that since “Jay-Z was taken, who would [I date]?” Clark confirmed, “She did [say that].”

However, Clark did not say when this conversation between her and Ventura took place.

It was also not immediately clear why Ventura’s cryptic comment was brought up in court, nor exactly what she had meant by it.

The comment came after Clark repeatedly shed tears on the stand.

She also testified on Tuesday that Combs had allegedly threatened to kill her during her first day on the job.

Clark alleged, too, that Combs had waved a gun as he kidnapped her years later in an angry rush to find and kill rapper Kid Cudi.

Combs was angry that Cudi was dating Ventura, Clark told jurors.

Clark, who referred to Combs as “Puff,” alleged he arrived at her home holding a gun, and demanded she get dressed because “we’re going to kill Cudi.”

GOT A GUN

With her voice shaky, Clark recounted how they rode in a black Cadillac Escalade to Cudi’s Los Angeles home.

Upon their arrival, Combs and his bodyguard entered the residence, while Clark sat in the SUV and called Ventura, the court heard.

Clark testified she told Ventura that “Combs got me with a gun and brought me to Cudi’s house to kill him.”

Clark said she heard Cudi in the background asking, “He’s in my house?”

She told Ventura, “Stop him, he’s going to get himself killed.” But Ventura told her she “couldn’t stop Cudi,” she recalled.

Combs then returned to the Escalade and asked Clark who she was talking to, she alleged, before grabbing the phone and calling Ventura back.

They next heard Cudi driving up the road, Clark added.

Combs and his bodyguard got back in the SUV and chased after Cudi, finally giving up when they passed police cars that were heading to Cudi’s house.

After the alleged break-in, Clark said that Combs told her she had to convince Cudi “it wasn’t me.”

“If you don’t convince him of that, I’ll kill all you,” he was claimed to have said, stressing his threat with an expletive, Clark alleged.

Clark said she and Ventura then went to Cudi’s home, as she told jurors, “We needed to talk to him. We needed to make sure he wasn’t going to make a police report about Puff.”

ASSAULT

After that, she said, she watched in shock as Combs viciously assaulted Ventura over her relationship with Cudi.

Combs kicked Ventura “with 100% full force to the legs and back as she curled on the ground outside his home in a fetal position and wept silently,” Clark told jurors.

Clark said her heart was breaking from seeing her being beaten, and that neither she nor Combs’ bodyguard intervened.

The answer prompted an objection from Combs’ lawyers, and Judge Arun Subramanian told jurors to disregard it.

COMPLICATED

Clark said she had worked on-and-off for Combs – and that she still missed the job.

It was a “complicated” situation, she added.

Clark was the former global brand director for Combs’ Bad Boy Entertainment.

Prosecutors had called her to support a charge that he led a two-decade racketeering conspiracy that relied on beefy bodyguards, death threats and the silence of frightened staff to ensure he got what he wanted.

Cudi testified last week that Combs allegedly broke into his home and hurt his dog in a jealous rage over his relationship.

Ventura has reportedly given birth two weeks after testifying in her ex’s trial.

TRIAL CONTINUES

Combs, 55, has pleaded not guilty to an indictment alleging he a.b.u.s.ed his longtime girlfriend, R&B singer Ventura, and others.

If convicted, he could face 15 years to life in prison.

Deonte Nash, a celebrity stylist and a friend of Ventura’s, is testifying in Combs’ s.є.x-trafficking trial on Thursday.

Since the rapper’s arrest, he has been held at the Metropolitan Detention Center in Brooklyn.
