CEO of billion-dollar company Astronomer was caught hugging a colleague on “Kiss Cam” at a Coldplay concert, the company immediately opened an internal investigation, and his wife deleted Facebook amid a public storm.
Astronomer, a $1.2 billion artificial intelligence and data technology company, has officially confirmed that it is opening an internal investigation into CEO Andy Byron, after he was caught having suspicious intimate behavior with colleague Kristin Cabot at a Coldplay concert.
“We are committed to the values and culture that have guided Astronomer since its inception. Leaders are expected to model responsible behavior and accountability,” the company wrote on LinkedIn on Friday.
“The board has formally launched an investigation into the incident and we will share more information as soon as possible.”
“Alyssa Stoddard was not present at the event and no other staff members appear in the video,” the statement added . “Andy Byron has never made any statements and any information circulating to the contrary is inaccurate.”
Along with that, according to the New York Post’s source, CEO Byron and human resources director Kristin Cabot were immediately suspended after the embarrassing moment spread on social media.
The scandal quickly attracted great attention from the global media, after CEO Andy Byron and Kristin Cabot – the company’s Chief People Officer – were filmed hugging each other during a performance at Gillette Stadium near Boston on the evening of July 16.
According to The Post , both are senior executives at Astronomer. The video shows them turning their backs and looking down awkwardly as their images suddenly appear on the big screen during Coldplay’s “Kiss Cam.”
“Look at those two,” lead singer Chris Martin, 48, commented as the crowd erupted in laughter and murmurs. “Either they’re having an affair or they’re too shy.”
Shortly after the video went viral on social media on Thursday, Byron’s wife, Megan, deleted her Facebook page. Before the account disappeared, many users left comments about her husband’s alleged infidelity, and Megan also removed her last name from the account.

On the evening of July 18, Astronomer confirmed that Bryon had been suspended immediately following the scandal .
“Co-founder and chief product officer Pete Dejoy is now serving as interim CEO as Andy Byron has been temporarily laid off.
We will share more details as appropriate in the coming days,” Page Six quoted a company representative as saying.

Byron and Cabot’s display of affection had previously attracted global media attention because the 50-year-old CEO is said to be married with two children.
His wife, Megan Kerrigan Byron, deleted her husband’s last name and closed her social media account after seeing a video of him and Cabot being intimate at a concert.
As for Cabot, she is divorced. Massachusetts court records obtained by the NY Post show that she separated from her ex-husband, Kenneth Thornby, in 2018 and their marriage officially ended in 2022.

Astronomer also said it has launched an investigation into the incident. “Astronomer is committed to the values and culture that have guided us since our founding. Our leaders are expected to set the standard for both conduct and accountability.
The Board of Directors has initiated a formal investigation into this matter and we will have more details to share soon,” the company said on LinkedIn.
The New York-based tech company also addressed some of the false rumors, stating that the woman standing next to Byron and Cabot in the concert audience was not the company’s VP of HR.
“Alyssa Stoddard was not present at the event and no other company employees were in the video. Andy Byron has not made any statements, and reports that suggest otherwise are inaccurate,” the representative said.
Like Byron, Cabot has also not spoken out about the incident and both have deactivated all of their social media.

Under a gray Los Angeles sky, mourners gathered at St. Paul’s Chapel to honor Malcolm-Jamal Warner. But when Adele and Adam Lambert stepped forward, grief turned to something transcendent. With trembling hands and tear-filled eyes, they began a haunting duet of “Bridge Over Troubled Water.” Behind them, black-and-white images of Malcolm’s life flickered. Midway, Adam’s voice broke—Adele reached for his hand and whispered, “We’ve got you.” No applause followed, only silence and sobs.
