The tech tycoon exposed for apparently having an affair with a co-worker on a “kiss cam” at a Coldplay concert raved about the staffer when she was hired just months before they were caught canoodling.
Andy Byron, CEO of the AI-centric New York firm Astronomer, called his human resources officer, Kristin Cabot — with whom he was broadcast locked in an embrace Wednesday — “a proven leader” when she joined the company in November 2024.
“Kristin’s exceptional leadership and deep expertise in talent management, employee engagement, and scaling people strategies will be critical as we continue our rapid trajectory,” Byron gushed.

Cabot “has a proven track record of preserving and enriching company culture at organizations experiencing rapid growth,” according to the press release, which notes she previously worked at the data analytics firm Neo4j.
In the same release, Cabot was quoted saying that she was “energized in my conversations with Andy and the Astronomer leadership team about the opportunities that exist here.”

On Wednesday, Byron and Cabot scrambled to hide their faces when an image of them cuddling passionately appeared on a jumbotron at the show at Gillette Stadium in Foxborough, Massachusetts.
“Oh, what?” the band’s frontman, Chris Martin, can be heard asking on stage. “Either they’re having an affair or they’re just very shy.”
Grace Springer – a female fan of the band Coldplay – felt guilty after posting on TikTok a video of CEO Andy Byron and his lover scaredly hiding from the ‘kiss cam’, during a concert on July 16.
Grace Springer, 28, of New Jersey, captured the remarkable moment at the concert on Wednesday and posted it online, not expecting it to explode on the Internet. Grace insists she had no intention of causing a scandal.
“I had absolutely no idea who they were. I just thought I had captured an interesting reaction on the kiss cam and decided to post it online,” the female viewer told The Sun.
Grace Springer’s video goes viral on social media
As a die-hard Coldplay fan, Grace and her friends went to Boston to see the band perform. Immediately after the concert, she said that the couple’s reaction on the kiss cam quickly became a hot topic of discussion, but no one knew who the two were.

The female viewer posted the video because she found the couple’s reaction funny and was discussed by everyone.
However, after watching Grace’s Tiktok video, many people quickly “tracked down” to find out the identities of these two characters. “I posted it before going to bed, at that time it only had a few thousand views.
When I woke up it was up to 7 million. Now it’s tens of millions. I’m really shocked,” she said. To date, Grace’s video has attracted more than 83 million views.
Grace said that when people discovered that the two characters in the video were CEO Andy Byron of the technology company Astronomer – who is married – and HR director Kristin Cabot, she felt guilty for possibly hurting the people involved.
“Part of me feels guilty for turning their lives upside down, but as the saying goes: bad things happen. I hope their partners can get over this soon and find happiness in the future. Hopefully my video is a ‘mixed blessing’ for them.”

The girl said that singer Chris Martin seemed to also guess that something was wrong with the couple when they panicked and ran away from the kiss cam, so he said: “Oh, what’s wrong? Either they’re having an affair or they’re too shy.”
However, when he saw the two disappear completely, Chris also felt guilty. “He said: ‘I hope we don’t do anything bad’ and tried to save the show, moving on to another couple on the show,” the female fan recalled.
After Grace Springer’s TikTok video went viral, many viewers shared different angles of the incident. On July 18, an account revealed a video of CEO Andy Byron kissing HR director Kristin Cabot while watching Chris Martin perform. The couple’s affectionate scene took place before they were “exposed” on the show’s kiss cam.
A member of the film crew shared with The Sun about the kiss cam catching the couple: “On big tours like this, the camera will randomly scan the audience and select interesting images. The couple being caught was just a coincidence, the right person at the right time.”
Another revealed: “Chris Martin usually does this trick at every show: interacting with the audience via kiss cam. But the reaction of this couple made the incident worse. I don’t know what they were thinking. Maybe they thought the probability of being filmed was very small, two people in 50,000 viewers. But they were wrong.”

Chris Martin – Coldplay band leader – teased the couple when he saw their unusual reaction.
The couple received a lot of criticism from the public for this action. Many people criticized: “Having an affair and still taking each other to the concert, they are really thoughtless people”, “I feel sorry for the wife, but I’m glad they were exposed and humiliated”…
Andy Byron, who was appointed CEO of Astronomer in 2023, and Kristin Cabot, who has been with the company for just nine months, have both deleted their LinkedIn profiles.
Astronomer announced that it has launched a formal investigation into the incident. “Astronomer is committed to the values and culture that have guided us since our founding.
Our leaders are expected to set the standard for both behavior and accountability. The board has initiated a formal investigation into this matter and we will have more details soon,” the company said on LinkedIn.
