The View’s Sunny Hostin admits she’s ‘crying’ over daughter Paloma, 18, and reveals real reason behind ‘absence’.

THE View’s Sunny Hostin has explained why she hasn’t been very active online lately while gushing over her daughter Paloma’s major milestone moment.
Early Wednesday morning, Sunny, 55, shared a post on Instagram, admitting she’s having difficulty whisking her daughter off to college.

The TV star posted photos from Paloma’s move-in day at Cornell University, in Ithaca, New York, where she and her husband, Emmanuel Hostin, saw her off over the weekend.
In the pics, Paloma, 17, smiled while gathering supplies for her first day and after setting up her dorm room.
However, the day wasn’t all smiles, as Sunny also shared several photos of the trio looking emotional as they prepared to part ways.
“I’ve been a little absent from social media trying to wrap my brain around being an empty nester and letting the birds fly.

“But I’m so proud of Paloma and her brother. GOOD people who will do great things in this world. I will miss seeing them every day tho,” Sunny wrote in her caption.
‘I’M NOT CRYING’
“You’re crying I’m not crying….” the mom of two commented, noting her teary-eyed pics.
Fans followed by praising Paloma for her achievement.
“A special time for Paloma and a new chapter for you Sunny!! Have a great first year Paloma!!” one person wrote.
“Omg! This made me feel a whole lotta things! Congrats to Paloma and the entire Hostin family!!!” said another.

“This is a beautiful thing… keep shining @palomahostin12334,” a third added.
Sunny and Emmanual, 53, are also parents to a son, Gabriel, 21, who is a junior at Harvard University in Boston.
In November, Sunny discussed her close bond with her daughter during an episode of The View: Behind the Table podcast.
While she said they always had a good relationship, the TV personality confessed she’d felt more distant from the teenager.
The View hosts
The View is an American talk show airing on ABC from 11am-12pm EST, Monday through Friday. It features a diverse group of women that discuss the day’s “Hot Topics”, ranging from hard-hitting news to celebrity gossip. The six co-hosts include:
She recalled how the duo had gone from best pals, sharing every detail of their lives, to Paloma wanting to spend less time with her mother.
Sunny called the change “devastating” and said she felt “hurt by the whole thing.”
Weeks before, Sunny revealed that Paloma suffered from a secret health issue that affects her eyesight, called Brown Syndrome.
She said her daughter’s health issue is partly the reason she keeps her phone on her during filming of The View.
RAN ITS COURSE?
Chatter has been circulating about how much longer The View will continue, given its roller-coaster ratings and viewer backlash.
Fans have complained about the topics discussed on the show and the controversial opinions of hosts Whoopi Goldberg, 68, Joy Behar, 81, Sara Haines, 46, Sunny, Ana Navarro, 52, and Alyssa Farah Griffin, 35.

Earlier this month, The U.S. Sun exclusively reported that decisions about the talk show’s future will be decided within the next four months, as per an ABC network source.
The View is currently on summer break and will return with new episodes after Labor Day Weekend.
