But Hines, standing right beside her husband, was completely ignored. She extended her hand to greet Trump, only for him to turn away, leaving her hand hanging in an uncomfortable moment caught live on ESPN.

The actress appeared embarrassed and tried to laugh it off—resembling a scene from the very show that made her famous. The moment quickly spread across social media, with many calling out the public snub. Hines has been married to RFK Jr. since 2014.

After receiving the snub, Hines then made a point to warmly greet President Trump’s granddaughter, Kai Trump, who accompanied him to the packed UFC 314 event.

The possible reason

President Trump appeared to smooth things over following the apparent snub, as later photos showed him holding Cheryl Hines’ hand while speaking with her and RFK Jr. The moment suggested a friendlier exchange after the earlier awkwardness at UFC 314.

Hines, who has publicly criticized Trump in the past, was outspoken about not supporting his 2024 presidential candidacy—even after her husband endorsed him. According to TMZ, she made it clear her support was solely for RFK Jr., not the then-former president.

Despite her earlier stance, Hines was seen at Mar-a-Lago in November following the election. Page Six reported that she was “fitting in well” with the MAGA crowd, with one source telling The Post that “Cheryl was talking to everyone, including Donald Trump.”
