Combs shares three kids with model Kim Porter, who died in 2018. They said they wanted to clear up “hurtful and false” rumors after a memoir claiming to be written by their mother was released online.

“Claims that our mom wrote a book are simply untrue. She did not. and anyone claiming to have a manuscript is misrepresenting themselves. additionally, please understand that any so-called ‘friend’ speaking on behalf of our mom or her family is not a friend, nor do they have her best interests at heart,” according to a joint statement posted on Instagram by Christian, 26, and Jessie and D’Lila, a set of 17-year-old twins, along with Quincy, 33, who Porter welcome to the world with singer Al B, but Combs later adopted.

They also shut down speculation about Porter’s cause of death after rumors swirled that she was murdered. According to TMZ, an autopsy previously revealed Porter died due to lobar pneumonia.

“Our lives were shattered when we lost our mother. She was our world. And nothing has been the same since she passed,” they wrote. “While it has been incredibly difficult to reconcile how she could be taken from us too soon, the cause of her death has long been established. There was no foul play. Grief is a lifelong process, and we ask that everyone respect our request for peace as we continue to cope with her loss every day.”

They added that they are “deeply saddened that the world has made a spectacle of what has been the most tragic event of our lives,” noting Porter should be remembered as the “beautiful, strong, kind, and loving woman she was. Her memory should not be tainted by horrific conspiracy theories.”

The post ended with the children urging the public to respect Porter and their family, as well as by writing, “We love and miss you mommy.”

They didn’t mention anything about unrelated charges their father is facing, however.

The statement comes after a book alleging to be Porter’s memoir was released on Amazon. According to PEOPLE, the book “details alleged disturbing and graphic s*xual encounters with Combs and other well-known celebrities, as well as alleged physical abuse from the music mogul against Porter.”

While Combs’ attorney told PEOPLEthe book is “fake,” “offensive” and “a shameless attempt to profit from tragedy,” the book’s publisher, Chris Todd, insisted it is authentic.

“Do you think Chris Todd would risk his a** and rep on something that was fake??” he told the media outlet.

Combs was arrested in Manhattan last week, about roughly six months after federal authorities raided his homes in Los Angeles and Miami.

An unsealed indictment states Combs “abused, threatened, and coerced women and others around him to fulfill his s*xual desires, protect his reputation, and conceal his conduct” between 2008 and now.

“Sean Combs led and participated in a racketeering conspiracy that used the business empire he controlled to carry out criminal activity, including s*x trafficking, forced labor, kidnapping, arson, bribery and the obstruction of justice,” U.S. Attorney Damian Williams previously said during a news conference.

Hip-hop star Cassie Ventura, as well as several other women, recently came forward with claims of s*xual and physical assaults.

Surveillance footage that surfaced in May appears to show Diddy attacking Ventura in a hotel hallway in 2016. CNN obtained the video, with the footage showing Diddy punching, kicking, and dragging Ventura, his then-girlfriend.

Ventura broke her silence by sharing a statement on Instagram about a week after the video was made public. She expressed gratitude to loved ones and fans for helping her through some of the hardest times of her life.

Thank you for all the love and support from my family, friends, strangers and those I have yet to meet,” she wrote. The outpouring of love has created a place for my younger self to settle and feel safe now, but this is only the beginning. Domestic Violence is THE issue. It broke me down to someone I never thought I would becomes. With a lot f hard work, I am better today, but I will always be recovering from my past.

Ventura also said she appreciates everyone who “has taken the time to take this matter seriously” and urged people to listen to domestic assault victims when they open up about abuse they’ve endured.

It takes a lot of heart to tell the truth out of a situation that you were powerless in,” she wrote. “I offer my hand to those that are still living in fear. Reach out to your people, don’t cut them off. no one should carry this weight alone. This healing journey is never ending, but this support means everything to me.”

In an apology video that has since been deleted, Diddy said he was “truly sorry” and his actions were “inexcusable.”

I take full responsibility for my actions in that video. I was disgusted then when I did it. I’m disgusted now,” the music mogul said in the video posted previously posted on Instagram and Facebook.

He added that he is “committed to being a better man each and every day. I’m not asking for forgiveness.”

At the time, the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office in an Instagram post said while it is aware of the footage that shows the attack and finds “the images extremely disturbing and difficult to watch,” there is nothing it can do about it.

If the conduct depicted occurred in 2016, unfortunately we would be unable to charge as the conduct would have occurred beyond the timeline where a crime of assault can be prosecuted,” the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office noted in the post.

“As of today, law enforcement has not presented a case related to the attack depicted in the video against Mr. Combs, but we encourage anyone who has been a victim or witness to a crime to report it to law enforcement or reach out to our office for support from our Bureau of Victims Services.”

The news comes after federal authorities raided at least two of Diddy’s homes as he faces a slew of accusations, including s*x trafficking and s*xual assault.

Diddy, who is the founder of Bad Boy Records and a three-time Grammy winner, previously denied the accusations.

“Sickening allegations have been made against me by individuals looking for a quick payday,”Combs wrote on Instagram in December. “Let me be absolutely clear: I did not do any of the awful things being alleged. I will fight for my name, my family and for the truth.”
