Far from being discouraged, she was ready to settle into life in Boston with her then-fiancé, Brian Fichera, and put down roots in the city.

But fate had other plans for her.

Dylan shared with Today.com, “I never had a goal to be at the Today Show.

I thought I was going to set up shop in Boston.

I met my husband up there, and we were just going to buy a house and live in Boston.

Then this opportunity came along.”

Though she hadn’t envisioned a career in morning television, Dylan embraced the opportunity.

She emphasized the importance of saying “yes” to the unexpected.

“I am who I am because I said ‘yes.

‘ Even if something’s scary, even if people are trying to say you need this or that, say ‘yes’ to all of it and just absorb it all,” she explained.

She’s also made a point to involve her three sons, Calvin, Oliver, and Rusty, in the show.

For example, Calvin has been featured in a segment called “Cooking with Cal,” where he joins his mom in the kitchen, even from a young age.

She and her husband Brian live in a two-bedroom Manhattan apartment with their three children, and they spend weekends at their beach house outside the city.
