Veteran actor Tom Selleck is reportedly pushing for a return to television following the cancellation of Blue Bloods, expressing a strong desire to stay active in the industry despite turning 80, RadarOnline reports.

Sources say Selleck was caught off guard by CBS’s development of Boston Blue, a spin-off of Blue Bloods, and is “furiously demanding” a role in the new series.

In the wake of being left out of the spin-off, Selleck has reportedly doubled down on efforts to stay in front of the camera.

Insiders claim the actor fears retirement could negatively affect his health and is pursuing a variety of projects, including cameos, commercials, and new TV or film roles.

He is especially passionate about reviving his Jesse Stone franchise, with a 10th film still in development.

The first eight installments aired on CBS, with the most recent, Lost in Paradise, premiering on Hallmark in 2015.

Selleck, who owns a 63-acre ranch in California, is said to prefer being on set rather than embracing a slower-paced life. He has reportedly made no plans to retire.

However, sources say his wife, Jillie Mack, 67, has grown frustrated, especially after he previously promised to ease up following his milestone birthday.

The actor was also reportedly disappointed with how CBS handled the Blue Bloods spin-off, having been excluded despite leading the original series for more than a decade.

Selleck marked his 80th birthday quietly, opting for a solo fast-food lunch and a low-key family dinner.

Insiders describe him as “stubborn” and driven, with one noting, “He’s not ready to fade away—even if it kills him.”

For now, Selleck remains determined to pursue new projects and keep his career active.
