NCIS: Origins Introduces Another Major Character from Gibbs’ Past – And Their Arrival Could Change Everything
Fans of NCIS and its thrilling prequel NCIS: Origins are in for a treat! The series is bringing back an important figure from Leroy Jethro Gibbs’ past, setting the stage for a pivotal moment originally explored in the main show.
Lara Macy Returns – But With a Twist
Claire Berger, best known for her role in The Midnight Club, will take on the younger version of Lara Macy, a character originally portrayed by Louise Lombard in NCIS Season 6’s two-parter “Legend.” Those episodes not only introduced Macy but also set the foundation for NCIS: Los Angeles.
Now, Macy will make her NCIS: Origins debut in the upcoming Season 1 finale, titled “Cecilia”, and she’s on a mission—to investigate the murder of Pedro Hernandez, the man Gibbs killed in revenge for the deaths of his wife and daughter.
The Investigation That Could Change Everything
According to reports, Berger’s version of Lara Macy is an ambitious, sharp-minded Military Police Investigator who refuses to back down from uncovering the truth. She arrives at Camp Pendleton’s NIS office, determined to get to the bottom of Hernandez’s killing.
But she won’t be the only one looking for answers. Mike Franks and Lala Dominguez, two of Gibbs’ closest allies, will do everything in their power to protect him from exposure. The burning question is: Will Macy turn Gibbs in, or will something—or someone—convince her to keep quiet?
A Decision That Echoes Through Time
Longtime NCIS fans already know how this story plays out. In NCIS Season 6, Macy ultimately chooses to bury the evidence that would have implicated Gibbs in Hernandez’s death. However, her decision eventually costs her life when she becomes a target of Hernandez’s children, who seek revenge in NCIS Season 7.
Still, NCIS: Origins has the opportunity to reveal what exactly led Macy to protect Gibbs in 1992. Was it Franks and Dominguez convincing her, or was it something she discovered on her own? And while Gibbs wouldn’t learn the truth about her actions until 2009, how will he react in 1992 when the case suddenly closes without consequence?
Looking Ahead – Could Macy Return in Season 2?
With NCIS: Origins already confirmed for a Season 2, could we see more of Claire Berger’s Lara Macy down the line? The NCIS universe is known for revisiting key characters, and Macy’s involvement in Gibbs’ past leaves plenty of room for more surprises and revelations.
For now, fans won’t have to wait long—Macy’s big NCIS: Origins debut is just weeks away. How will she handle one of the most dangerous cases of her career? Stay tuned to find out!
