Jonathan Majors and Meagan Good Wed in Backyard Ceremony: “The Happiest Day of My Life”

Jonathan Majors and Meagan Good are married.

The couple tied the knot Tuesday during an intimate backyard ceremony at their Los Angeles home, a rep for the couple confirmed to The Hollywood Reporter.

 Majors confirmed the news — first reported by Entertainment Tonight — during an appearance today on Sherri while promoting his new film Magazine Dreams.

“I said to Meagan yesterday, ‘Today might be the happiest day of my life,’” the 35-year-old actor told host Sherri Shepherd as he fought back tears. “I love that woman so much.”

He continued by saying that it was “always the plan” to marry the 43-year-old actress, adding that he requested the blessing of Good’s father prior to popping the question.

 TMZ reported that the proposal took place last year in Paris. “I asked her father for permission…if that was alright, and he said, ‘That’s cool,’” Majors said. “It was a longer conversation. It was always the plan.”

Majors dished more wedding details, revealing that they exchanged rings that the couple had engraved in Hawaii. He also confirmed that his mother officiated.

“My mother’s a pastor, and she came from Dallas where I’m from.

We had my mom come, and she came to the L.A. screening [for Magazine Dreams]. My mother had never been to one of my screenings.

We had told her that, ‘Hey we’re gonna do this thing,’ and we did. My mother married us yesterday. Her mother was there.”

The couple revealed their engagement during a red carpet appearance at the Ebony Power 100 event in Los Angeles last November.

It was a full circle moment as they met in a unis*x bathroom at the same event in 2022.

“I had seen a lot of his work and I was just like, ‘This kid is super talented,’” Good recently told The Hollywood Reporter as part of a cover profile of Majors.

“I just remember thinking, ‘Hollywood is a strange town, and when you’re new to it, you don’t know who to trust or what’s what.

I just want to say something and affirm him.’” Majors also recalled the encounter: “She said to me, ‘I see you. I really love what you’re doing. Keep going.’

I stood up straight and said, ‘Yes, ma’am.’ We just looked at each other and that was that. And I didn’t stop thinking about it.”

Good was previously married to preacher-turned-producer DeVon Franklin before they divorced in 2022.

Majors has a daughter, 11, from a previous relationship. They were first linked after being photographed together on a movie date at Alamo Drafthouse in May 2023.

Good was a constant presence by Majors’ side during a highly publicized trial in New York where he was eventually convicted of one count of misdemeanor third-degree assault and one count of second-degree harassment of his ex-girlfriend, British dancer Grace Jabbari.

“We didn’t plan to start dating and we didn’t plan to be seen out together,” Good told THR of their relationship becoming public with the movie date.

“But once we were in a relationship, it was like, ‘Hey, this is what’s happening.’”

She also explained why she stayed with him amid legal troubles and as his career imploded. “People tend to move out of the way out of concern for their careers or their reputations.

To me, that’s not real love. If you know someone and if you believe in someone, it’s not conditional.”

Looking ahead to the future, Majors told THR that he sees the couple expanding their family.

“Me and Meagan, maybe a couple kids and my [11-year-old daughter], happy, at ease, not worried about anything,” he said.
