‘I feel more and more grateful every year’: Wistful Susanna Reid shares a black and white throwback of herself as a toddler while celebrating her 52nd birthday with mum Sue

Susanna Reid shared a baby picture of herself with Instagram followers on Saturday as she celebrated her 52nd birthday.

The TV presenter revealed her mum Sue had brought an album of baby photos over as she helped Susanna celebrate her special day, with the presenter latest sharing a photo on social media.

The Good Morning Britain star posted a spliced snap of herself as fans know her, alongside an old black and white photo from her infancy.

Commenting on th3e post, Susanna admitted she ‘feels more and more grateful’ each year as she reminisced on her birthday.

The mother-of-three wrote: ’52 TODAY! Mum brought over my baby book which contains this gem.

‘Each birthday I feel more and more grateful for everything and everyone and for every year. Thankful for family & friends and for all birthday wishes.’

The celebration comes after Susanna revealed she is ‘really sad’ and ‘cries her heart out’ as her youngest son is preparing to leave the family home for university.

She decided last year not to take on any more television jobs so she could be there for her children in their final years of education.

The presenter, who shares three children Sam, 20, Finn, 18 and Jack, 17, with ex-partner Dominic Cotton, is instead making the most of every moment with her boys.

‘I want to enjoy time with them’: The GMB presenter decided last year not to take on any more television jobs so she could be there for her children in their final years of education

She told The Mirror: ‘You cry your heart out, because all that regular time with your children has gone. It’s really sad.

‘Now they’re all en route to leaving home, I want to enjoy time with them as much as I possibly can. Good Morning Britain is my biggest commitment and I’m not taking on anything extra.’

Susanna ‘stopped’ drinking four years ago after having ‘hangxiety’ and now enjoys ‘spending time with the kids’ instead.

She continued: ‘I stopped enjoying it. I prefer life alcohol-free – it’s tiring and the hangxiety got to me. I don’t feel like I can plough on after pints of Guinness the night before. Spending time with the kids is my release.’
