FURIOUS SUNNY HOSTIN UNLEASHES ON ‘NEAR-BANKRUPT’ INSURANCE COMPANY AFTER BOMBSHELL FRAUD ALLEGATIONS AGAINST HER HUSBAND

Sunny Hostin is fighting back with full force after explosive allegations surfaced, accusing her husband, Dr. Emmanuel “Manny” Hostin, of being involved in a massive insurance fraud scheme.

The View co-host is standing firmly by her spouse after he was named as one of nearly 200 defendants in what is being described as one of the largest civil RICO cases in New York history.

The lawsuit, filed by American Transit Insurance Company, alleges that Dr.

Hostin, 54, participated in a scheme to fraudulently bill for surgeries and receive kickbacks disguised as dividends.

But Sunny isn’t backing down. In an explosive statement to Page Six, she slammed the lawsuit as “frivolous” and a “desperate attempt” by the insurer to avoid paying legitimate claims.

She accused the company of intentionally smearing her husband’s name and even dragging their children into the controversy.

DailyMail.com was the first to report that Dr. Emmanuel 'Manny' Hostin is among nearly 200 defendants named in one of the largest civil RICO cases ever filed in New York. (Pictured: Dr. Hostin and Sunny in September)

“This is nothing more than a disgusting media smear campaign designed to intimidate and harass my family,” she fumed.

“American Transit is on the verge of bankruptcy, and instead of paying what it owes, it is trying to destroy doctors’ reputations. We will not be bullied!”

Multi-Million Dollar Legal Battle Brewing

The legal showdown is intensifying as Hostin and her husband have enlisted powerhouse attorney Mark Geragos, who has already fired back with a $5 million countersuit against American Transit.

In a blistering letter, Geragos warned the insurer to withdraw its “baseless” claims and issue a public apology—or face even greater legal repercussions.

Sunny said the lawsuit against her husband is a 'desperate attempt to avoid paying for medical and surgical procedures for people it insures who were in pain'

“This is just the beginning,” Sunny warned.

“$5 million is just an initial estimate. The reputational damage they have caused my husband and family is immeasurable. They will be held accountable.”

Shocking Allegations of Fraud

The lawsuit, filed in federal court in Brooklyn, paints a damning picture of the alleged scheme.

It claims Dr. Hostin, a respected orthopedic surgeon affiliated with top hospitals like Mount Sinai and Lenox Hill, performed unnecessary arthroscopic surgeries on patients involved in minor accidents—rushing them into procedures instead of recommending conservative treatment.

American Transit alleges that Hostin’s office, located near Manhattan’s Grand Central Terminal, funneled patients to Empire State Ambulatory Surgery Center in exchange for “investment” payments—money the lawsuit claims were actually illegal kickbacks.

The couple has been married since 1998 and currently live in a 10-bedroom, 10-bathroom estate in Purchase, New York. They have a 22-year-old son and 18-year-old daughter

“These fraudulent practices have cost the insurance industry hundreds of millions of dollars and driven up premiums for hardworking taxi and Uber drivers,” the company said in a statement.

Sunny Hostin Fights Back Hard

Sunny, a former federal prosecutor herself, is calling foul, pointing out that American Transit has a long history of dodging its financial responsibilities.

She cited a 2014 lawsuit filed against the company by Uber, as well as a damning 83-page report from New York’s Department of Financial Services, which detailed alleged financial mismanagement at American Transit.

'American Transit is harassing me and my family in a frantic attempt to not pay its bills. Our family will not be intimidated and harassed. We remain unbowed,' Sunny said

“They are drowning in lawsuits and now trying to distract from their own failures by attacking doctors who provide necessary care,” Sunny declared.

Dr. Hostin was named in the lawsuit as the owner of Hostin Orthopaedics that was providing arthroscopic procedures without waiting to see if the accident victims recovered with more conservative treatment

She also had a sharp message for the insurance giant, ending her statement with a fiery warning: “Where I come from, American Transit is about to get a PHD from FAFO University.”

A Family Under Siege

The Hostins, who have been married since 1998 and share two children—Gabriel, 22, and Paloma, 18—are vowing to fight back against what they call “defamatory lies.”

“We remain unbowed, unbroken, and unafraid,” Sunny declared.

As the legal battle heats up, one thing is clear: this fight is far from over.
