Sunny Hostin is taking aim at former President Donald Trump, accusing him of hypocrisy as he vows to eliminate Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) policies while having allegedly benefited from a lack of meritocracy himself.

In a fiery segment on The View, Hostin blasted Trump, labeling him a “DEI hire”—but not for the reason one might expect.

Reacting to Trump’s recent executive order dismantling DEI policies across federal agencies, Hostin didn’t hold back.

“Donald Trump talking about this country being a meritocracy? This is a man who didn’t become president because of merit,” she declared.

“He had zero political experience before winning the White House.

He was handed everything.

Hostin took particular issue with the timing of Trump’s inauguration, calling it an insult to Dr.King’s legacy.

“The hypocrisy of inaugurating Trump on the same day we commemorate MLK is sickening,” she said.

“Martin Luther King fought for racial and economic equality, and here comes Trump, on this day, pushing policies that actively destroy that progress.”

Quoting Dr. King, Hostin reminded viewers of his words: ‘It’s all right to tell a man to lift himself by his own bootstraps, but it is cruel to say to a bootless man that he ought to lift himself by his own bootstraps.’

She then doubled down, calling for reparations for Black Americans, arguing that systemic injustices must be addressed rather than erased.

Trump Wages War on DEI—Orders Mass Layoffs

Trump wasted no time fulfilling his pledge to eradicate DEI policies from the federal government.

Within 24 hours of taking office, his administration issued a sweeping order: all DEI hires across federal agencies must be placed on paid leave by 5 p.m.

Wednesday. Entire DEI departments will be shut down, sending a clear message that diversity initiatives have no place in Trump’s government.

The move, cheered by his supporters, has drawn sharp criticism from civil rights advocates who say it will erase decades of progress.

Hostin Slams Celebrities for Supporting Trump

Not stopping there, Hostin also went after celebrities who performed at Trump’s inaugural events, including hip-hop legends Snoop Dogg and Nelly.

“Snoop and Nelly performing for Trump? That’s betrayal,” she fumed.

“I gave her a softball question—’How would you be different from Biden?’” Hostin recalled.

“And even then, she couldn’t come up with an answer.”
