CNN’s Kaitlan Collins Sobbing on Air During Heartbreaking Interview with Grieving Father After DC Plane Crash Tragedy

CNN anchor Kaitlan Collins was overcome with emotion during an intensely moving interview with Andy Beyer, a father who lost both his wife and daughter in the devastating American Airlines crash into the Potomac River.

CNN news anchor Kaitlan Collins broke down in tears on air during an emotional interview with a man whose wife and daughter were passengers aboard the doomed American Airlines jet that hit a military chopper and crashed into the Potomac River last week.

The tragedy, which involved a collision between the plane and a military Black Hawk helicopter, took 67 lives, including Beyer’s beloved family members.

Beyer appeared on CNN’s “The Source” on Monday night to honor the memory of his wife, Justyna, and their 12-year-old daughter, Brielle, a talented figure skater.

He shared the gut-wrenching moment he learned of their deaths following the crash on January 29, which sent shockwaves across the nation.

“We were supposed to pick them up, me and my son, like we always do for these trips,” Beyer recalled, his voice cracking as he spoke in front of family portraits.

He described the terrifying moment as he and his son waited near Reagan Airport, texting with his wife and daughter just moments before the crash.

“The tracker said they had landed, but then the texts switched from blue to green, and I saw firetrucks speeding by… that’s when I knew something was wrong.”

Beyer continued, his voice filled with sorrow, explaining that the tragic news came before any official confirmation.

“We knew. It really hurt,” he said, as his son’s heartbreaking reaction echoed in his mind: “No!”

Throughout the emotional six-minute segment, Beyer lovingly remembered his daughter, Brielle, who had fought cancer at just 4 months old, and spoke of his wife Justyna as his “soulmate” and “the most wonderful mother.”

The grief-stricken father described their family as living his “dream” before the unimaginable tragedy struck.

As Beyer shared the painful details, Kaitlan Collins, usually a composed figure on air, could not hold back her tears.

The CNN anchor struggled to maintain her composure, wiping away tears as she heard Beyer’s tribute to his loved ones.

“They deserve to be remembered,” Beyer said of his wife and daughter, his voice breaking with emotion.

“Everyone dies, but they live on through our memories.

I want the world to remember them.”

The heart-wrenching moment left both Beyer and Collins in a brief silence as they struggled with the immense grief.

Collins, her voice quivering, expressed her gratitude for Beyer’s strength in sharing his story with the world.
