Billy Baldwin Says Brother Alec Once Made Fun of Him for Having 3 Kids — and Now He Has 8 of His Own

Billy joked that his ’30 Rock’ alum brother teased him about growing his family long before he had a bigger one of his own

Alec Baldwin had no idea what was in store for him when he made fun of his younger brother William “Billy” Baldwin for growing his family nearly 20 years ago.

The actor, 61, recently spoke to the New York Post about his new film No Address and recalled a hilarious story between himself and his older brother Alec, 66.

Back when Billy and his wife Chynna Phillips became pregnant with their third baby, the 30 Rock star made a now-ironic comment about his brother’s family size.

“I remember when he made fun of me when Chynna and I were pregnant with our third child,” said Billy, who is dad to daughters Brooke, 20, and Jameson, 24, and son Vance, 24.

“He said, ‘What are you, Dad?’ Because my mother and father had six kids.”

Billy and Alec have four other siblings — Steve, 58, Daniel, 64, Elizabeth, 69, and Jane, 60.

However, Billy had a chance to get back at Alec once the actor got a little older. “And then he got married again and he had child three, four, five, six,” Billy said. “And I said, ‘What are you, Anthony Quinn?’”

“And that’s a joke because there is an actor, Anthony Quinn, who when he was [82] had a child,” Billy explained. “Tony Randall had a child at like 75.”

Alec is a dad of eight — he shares seven kids, daughters Ilaria Catalina Irena, 2, María Lucía Victoria, 3, Carmen Gabriela, 11, and sons Eduardo “Edu” Pao Lucas, 4.

Romeo Alejandro David, 6,  Leonardo Ángel Charles, 7, and Rafael Thomas, 9, with wife Hilaria. He is also dad to daughter Ireland, 29, whom he shares with ex Kim Basinger.

In November, Hilaria shared with TH what she was excited for as she got ready to celebrate Thanksgiving with her family.

“Our kids just got very into spending time together over a meal and cooking together,” Hilaria told TH of her little ones.

“They have always eaten together and it has been fun to watch them find joy over the acts of preparing food and enjoying it together.”

“We are very excited to do this on Thanksgiving and are grateful to be together,” she added.
