Roberts brought unmatched energy and heart to the stage with “Ain’t No Mountain High Enough,” the timeless anthem originally made famous by Marvin Gaye & Tammi Terrell in 1967 and later reimagined by Diana Ross, whose version soared to No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100.
The song’s iconic presence in the 2000 Disney film Remember the Titans gave Roberts a powerful connection point — and he didn’t waste the opportunity.
His rendition blended old-school soul with modern charisma, capturing the spirit of the original while making it completely his own.

Sunday’s (May 11) episode featured two performances from each contestant, and Roberts delivered not one, but two standout moments:
