In her newly released memoir, Lisa Marie Presley – Elvis Presley’s daughter – said she was sexually abused by her mother’s ex-boyfriend – actor Mike Edwards.

After Elvis Presley died in 1977, Lisa Marie moved to Los Angeles to live full-time with her mother – Priscilla Presley (married and living with the “king of rock and roll” Elvis from 1967 to 1973).

In her book From Here to the Great Unknown , released on October 8, Lisa Marie alleges that Edwards (who played Joan Crawford’s lover in the 1981 film Mommie Dearest ) sneaked into her room in the middle of the night and fondled her feet.

“Edwards said he would teach me what would happen when I grew up. He put his hand on my chest and said a man would touch here and then put his hand between my legs and said they would touch you here. He kissed me gently, then left,” Lisa Marie Presley, then 10 years old, wrote in her memoir.

She told her mother the next day. Lisa wrote: “My mother flew into the room and slammed the door. She finally called me in and said Edwards wanted to apologize… Edwards was sitting on the bed looking sad and sulky… He said, ‘I’m so sorry, but in Europe that’s how they teach kids so that’s what I did’.”

But Lisa claims in the book that the abuse didn’t stop there. “He eventually touched me and hit me, telling me not to watch him masturbate. He did it very calmly while sitting on a chair, then beat my buttocks until they were bruised,” Elvis Presley’s daughter wrote.

Lisa Marie said that after she showed Priscilla the bruises, her mother asked, “So what did you do to cause that?”

Edwards, now 80, denies all allegations. “I was shocked, it’s not true… I’m like a father to Lisa Marie,” he told Page Six , adding that no one from the book’s publisher had called him to ask about the incident.

On June 4, 1966, Edwards married flight attendant Grace Ward, of Boston, with whom he had a daughter, Caroline (born 1967). Edwards and Ward divorced in October 1968, and he dated Priscilla Presley from 1977 to 1984.

In his 1988 book Elvis, Priscilla and Me , Edwards wrote that he “craved Lisa.” “Priscilla and I had been inseparable before, but now Lisa and I were together almost every day.

Soon I found myself looking at the clock, waiting for Lisa to leave school, just as Elvis had eagerly waited for Priscilla to return to Graceland after school each day,” Edwards confessed.

Also in the book, Edwards writes: “One time, when Priscilla and I were sitting at the dining table and Lisa was sitting between us, she got up to get something from the refrigerator and her bare knee accidentally brushed against my hand.

It sent waves of desire through me. I looked at Priscilla and thought, ‘Don’t you see what’s happening? I’ve fallen in love with your daughter.’”

Lisa Marie claims “the abuse went on for several years, Edwards lived with Priscilla for seven years, their relationship was fraught with violence,” according to the memoir.

Lisa Marie, Elvis Presley’s only daughter, died in January 2023 at the age of 55, leaving behind several tape recordings from which her eldest daughter, actress Riley Keough, co-wrote a memoir.
